July Charm - Plane Tree Branches

My charms for July.

Three little plane tree branch charms. The plane tree (platanos) is my favourite tree, they are a native tree in Greece, and they're dying. A fungus that's come from north america causes their leaves not to open, and once infected a tree can be dead within 1-2 years. Many of the plane trees growing in Greece are hundreds of years old and are massive, it's also the most common tree you'll find in the central square of each Greek village, so this disease is going to change the Greek landscape drastically.
I'm so incredibly sad about this, and so this months I made a few little charms as a memory.

The dead plane trees lose their mottled outer layer of bark, and slowly become a bleached white colour, so this will also happen to your charm the more you wear it and touch it.

Oxidised sterling silver, I've started the 'bleaching' process a little on each one.
